    QAD Buys Transportation Management Software Firm


    Carpinteria-based QAD said Wednesday afternoon that it has acquired Precision Software Limited, a Dublin, Ireland-based provider of transportation management software. The total price for the firm is approximately $14.5M. QAD said that the acquisition would allow it to expands its capabilities and offerings. Precision Software develops transportation management systems that integrate with QAD's enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. Precision Software, which was founded in 1984, will operate as a subsidiary of QAD.
