Qualcomm, Nortel In Cross Licensing Agreement

Qualcomm, the San Diego-based firm behind the CDMA wireless standard, said Thursday that it has inked a patent and product agreement with Nortel. The firms said Thursday that Nortel will be granted a license to manufacture and sell components for use in CDMA subscriber devices. The agreement includes a royalty, and is an expansion of a prior agreement between the firms. Specific financial terms were not disclosed by the companies.
