    Qualcomm Acquires Xiam Technologies Limited


    San Diego-based Qualcomm said today that it has acquired Xiam Technologies Limited, a provider of wireless content discovery and recommendation technology. Qualcomm said it would pay approximately $32 million for Xiam, which is based in Ireland. Xiam's technology is used to provide relevant content and advertisements to consumers over wireless networks and the Web. Qualcomm said Xiam will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of the firm. Xiam was venture backed by Delta Partners and Enterprise Ireland.
