Qualcomm, Greylock Return To Back 3D, Room Scanning Startup

San Diego-based Qualcomm Ventures and active Southern California investor Greylock Partners have both put more money behind Matterport, a developer of interior, 3D room scanning technology. Matterport said Monday morning that it has raised $16M in a Series B funding, which included former investors Qualcomm and Greylock Partners, and which was led by DCM Ventures. Other investors in the funding included AME Cloud Ventures, Lux Capital, Felicis Ventures, Navitas Capital, AMD Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures, plus Blake Krikorian (Sling Media) and Gordon Segal (Crate & Barrel). Matterport is based in Silicon Valley. Matterport's technology and high end camera very accurately capture the 3D interior space of rooms, for use in CAD, CAM, virtual reality, and other applications. More information »
