Qualcomm In Patent License Deal On EV Charging

San Diego-based Qualcomm said today that it has inked a new patent license agreement with BRUSA, an automotive power electronics supplier. Qualcomm said the patent license covers its Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) technology, and allows BRUSA to commercialize WEVC systems for Plug-In Hybrid and Electric Vehicles. Financial details of the patent license were not annouced, however, Qualcomm said the royalty-bearing patent license lets BRUSA develop, make and supply WEVC systems for certain automobile manufacturers.
