Qualcomm Inks License With EV Charging Company

San Diego-based Qualcomm reported a win today with electric vehicle charging consultant Ricardo. Qualcomm said that Ricardo, which provides engineering, strategic, technical and environmental consulting, has licensed its Qualcomm Halo patent portfolio, in order to commercialize systems for wireless electric vehicle charging. Financial details of that patnet license were not disclosed. Qualcomm said Ricardo has been granted a royalty-bearing technology license to develop, make and supply wireless electric vehicle charging (WEVC) systems for automobile manufacturers. Qualcomm will also provide technical expertise and engineering support to Ricardo as part of the deal.
