Qualcomm Names Mollenkopf CEO

San Diego-based wireless giant Qualcomm said this morning that it has named Steve Mollenkopf its new CEO. Mollenkopf had been President of the company, and will retain that role in addition to the new CEO title. Current CEO Dr. Paul E. Jacobs will become Executive Chairman. Mollenkopf has spent nearly 20 years at Qualcomm. The company said Dr. Jacobs will remain an employee of the company, and continue to guide its future strategies and direction.
