Qualcomm Provides GPS Enhancements

San Diego-based wireless technology developer Qualcomm said that it has improved the GPS capability of its chips. The company said that the GPS capability in its silicon now fatures improved sensitivity, enhanced indoor accuracy, and simultaneous use of both voice and GPS to enable location-based services and E911 calls. The upgraded GPS capability is featured in its MSM6125 Mobile Station Modem product. Qualcomm has been including GPS products in their chips as manufacturers and wireless carriers look to improve and enhance the wireless services available on the market. The company also said that its MSM6125 chipset adds double the capacity of CDMA networks, and is pin and software compatible with its existing CDMA2000 chipsets.
