Qualcomm Trials MediaFLO In Malaysia

San Diego-based QUALCOMM said late last night that its MediaFLO mobile broadcast technology will undergo a trial in Malaysia. QUALCOMM said that Maxis Communications Berhad and ASTRO All Asia Networks plc have agreed to conduct a technical trial of its technolgoy this fall. The test is part of a potential deployment of its mobile broadcasting services on the Maxis cellular network in 2008. MediaFLO is Qualcomm's standard designed for delivering video and othe rmultimedia content to cell phones. Maxis Communications is a mobile service provider serving Malaysia, India, and Indonesia.
