RealPractice Gets New Funding, Execs

Irvine-based RealPractice, a developer of software used by law firms to manage their practices, said today that it has raised a new round of funding and appointed a new executive team. The firm said it has raised a new round of funding from its original angel investors, former employees, and Rustic Canyon Partners and Miramar Venture Partners. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. As part of the funding, the firm said it has named Brad Cooper as Senior Vice President of Marketing and GM of Online Channels, and appointed Matt New as VP of Product, and Claude Ciocan as Vice President of Engineering. Cooper was most recently at CircleUp, and also has served at Webvisible, Apple, MGM Studios and Xerox. New was most recently at Ripple Networks, and also served at Yahoo. Ciocan was also most recently at Ripple Networks, where he was head of its engineering team. RealPractice is headed by Carey Ransom. The firm said the new funding will go towards expanding its product set and reach, and to serve new customers. More information »
