Report: Fisker Delays Plug-In Sedan Until 2014

Irvine-based Fisker Automotive has delayed the release of its plug-in hybrid car, the Fisker Atlantic, until at least 2014, according to Green Car Reports. News of the delay came at a news conference Monday. Fisker had originally said it would start shipping the Atlantic (formerly Project Nina) in 2012. Fisker has raised more than $1.2 billion for its efforts to kickstart its own automobile firm; the firm's backers include such notable companies as Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and New Enterprise Associates. However, the firm has seen quite a number of setbacks to its plans--including the bankruptcy filing of its battery supplier, A123, just this morning.
