    Riot Games Rounds Up $7M

Los Angeles-based Riot Games announced this morning that it has raised $7M in a round of funding, for the firm's upcoming online game titles. The funding came from Benchmark Capital and FirstMark Capital. Riot Games is the game development firm run by Brandon Beck and Marc Merrill, who have previously been involved in Ultima Online, Dungeon Siege, Jak & Dexter, Heroes of Might & Magic, and other titles. According to Riot, it is working on an undisclosed title and technology platform aimed at the online games space. Rick Heitzmann of FirstMark and Benchmark's Mitch Lasky have both joined the firm's board of directors along with the funding.
