SAIC Acquires CloudShield Technologies
San Diego-based SAIC said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquired CloudShield Technologies, a provider of information security products. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. CloudShield is a developer of deep packet inspection and network traffic analysis tools, specifically aimed at cybersecurity. SAIC said the buy will enhance its cybersecurity offerings, and meet specific requirements in the U.S. federal government and commercial markets. CloudShield will become part of its Intelligence and Information Systems Business Unit. CloudShield was venture backed by Foundation Capital, Paladin Capital Group, Tektronix, TPG Ventures, and Velocity Interactive.
