    SAIC Buys Linguistics Firm


    San Diego-based Science Applications International Corporation announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire SM Consulting, Inc., a Linthicum, Maryland-based provider of services to the federal, state, and local government market and others. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. SMC offers linguistic services, foreign language translation, and training to the defense and intelligence industry. SAIC said that SMC employs more than 460 people and will join its Mission Integration Business Unit in Reston, Va.
