Savings.com Targets Grocery Shopping With New Coupon App, Favado

Los Angeles-based online coupon site Savings.com has made a major expansion today, into the grocery coupon and shopping market. According to the company, it has launched a new app called Favado, which provides grocery coupon information, sales information, and printable grocery coupons to consumers. The new app--which runs on Android and iPhone--taps into an extensive network of grocery bloggers for its information, according to Savings.com CEO Loren Bendele, to pull up not only the latest deals and pricing at local stores, but also helps coupon enthusiasts figure out how to combine coupons with special deals at stores for greater savings.

The new app is a major expansion for Savings.com, into a completely new market area. The company had been offering coupons for online, e-commerce stores, but had not expanded into the more traditional, grocery coupon market. According to Bendele, the move came due to demand from its existing users, many of whom were looking for grocery coupon information. Savings.com says that Favado covers more than 65,000 stores nationwide. The app aggregates not just printable, online coupons, but also includes details on newspaper inserts and mail-in rebate offers, on top of information on sales.
