Camarillo-based analog and mixed signal semiconductor devloper Semtech announced this morning that it has shipped a new, system-on-a-chip (SoC) core, specifically aimed at high speed, communications systems. The company said it has shipped a 64GSPS ADC and DAC preliminary cores, which can be used for optical communications, radar and electronic warfare applications. Semtech is tapping IBM's 32nm SOI technology for the cores. Those designs can be integrated into systems-on-a-chip (SoC) designs by designers. Pricing on the cores was not announced.
