    Semtech Targets Mobile Phones

Camarillo-based electronics provider Semtech said this week that it has rolled out a new component for clamshell and game-playing mobile phones. The company said its RClamp0504P protection component is designed for phones that implement the mobile display digital interface (MDDI) standard, and reduces the number of wires required for a handset's hinge. Semtech is a supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors for the communications and electronics markets.
