    Sequoia Communications Ships RF Transceiver

San Diego-based Sequoia Communications has announced a single chip RF transceiver, saying today that it has released a product that targets 3G handsets. The new SEQ7400 is a single-chip, polar, seven-band HEDGE RF transceiver targeted at providing the lowest power consumption and reduced cost of ownership for electronic designers designing mobile phones. The new device is the second in its line of products, and simultaneously supports the WCDMA, HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS, and GSM wireless protocols. The product is expected to hit volume production in Q2 of 2007. Sequoia Communications is backed by BlueRun Ventures, Cadence Design Systems, Gabriel Venture Partners, Huntington Ventures, Motorola, Nokia Venture Partners, Tallwood Venture Capital and Third Point Ventures.
