SG Biofuels Confirms $9.4M Fundraising

Encinitas-based SG Biofuels, a firm developing biofuels crops based on Jatropha, confirmed today that it has raised $9.4M in a Series A financing. The firm said the funding came from Flint Hills Resources, Life Technologies, and existing investors. SG Biofuels said the new funding will go towards advancing Jatropha as a high yield, low cost feedstock for diesel, jet fuel, and petrochemicals.
