Shoppers Spend $16.8 Billion Online So Far During Holidays

According to numbers released Sunday by Internet traffic and measurement firm comScore, shoppers so far this season have spent $16.8 billion online for the first 33 days of the holiday season. According to comScore, spending has slowed down somewhat since the record breaking, Cyber Monday take of $1.028 billion in e-commerce sales. Shoppers spent $911M on Tuesday, $868M on Wednesday, and $850M on Thursday online. comScore said that larger retailers have benefited most this season, due to offering the "most competitive" pricing on goods and services. The top 25 online retailers have seen their online sales grow 20 percent, versus overall growth being flat among small and mid-sized retailers.
