We are seeking a Quality Assurance Test Engineer to ensure the development and delivery of our high-quality software products. QA Test Engineers report to the Director of Quality Assurance and work in a team environment to deliver data I/O acceleration technologies for Windows- and Linux-based data center infrastructures.

Responsibilities:

The QA Test Engineer performs thorough in-house functionality, reliability, longevity and performance testing of all software products before release or approval for field test. He or she is also responsible for creating and implementing test plans, scripts, and reports detailing the array of test results.

Essential functions:

Designs and executed test scripts/plans to ensure the product achieves the designed functionality and does not introduce any unacceptable side effects. Tests are done in a variety of hardware and software configurations, as identified in the test script/plan.

Implements automated testing and works diligently to increase the scope of the automated testing program. Is responsible for creating and running test cases/test suites, performing regression testing and verifying bug fixes.
Tests products periodically throughout the development cycle, ensuring standard testing is done including core functionality testing, benchmarking, etc. and alerts others to anomalies that fall outside the range of expected test results.
Performs compatibility testing with common 3rd party software products and solutions.

Assists in the creation and management of test plans and automated test scripts that reflect the user requirements and functional specifications.
Assists developers, product assembly and customer support to reproduce problems and bugs being experienced in a specific environment to aid resolution.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

Ability to quickly identify test requirements and write test plans and cases.
Programming experience in any language is highly desirous.
Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and/or Windows PowerShell experience is desirous.
Experience with Microsoft Test Manager and coded UI testing.
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to rapidly learn new technologies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team in a technical leadership capacity. Strong ability to influence others and build consensus using written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate "the big picture" and offer solutions to make it better.
Able to design and implement tests that will determine whether the developed system meets its specifications. Experience with testing and/or certification frameworks is highly desirous.
Prior experience with agile methodologies will be beneficial.


Education:

Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or equivalent, Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
