Silvus Shows MIMO Technology
Los Angeles-based Silvus Communications Systems, a provider of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems used for wireless communications, is announcing today that it has demonstrated its compact transceiver. The firm said that it has a 2x2 MIMO receiver which is has demonstrated at a throughput rate of 26Mbps over a kilometer, and which supports a datarate of up to 117Mbps in an FPGA platform, which complies with the 802.11n draft wireless standard. The firm said that it is offering MIMO and 802.11n firmware, along with MIMO Software Defined Radio, MIMO test beds, MIMO software and IP cores. The firm is a spinoff of UCLA, and is headed by Babak Daneshrad, an associate professor of Electrical Engineering at UCLA and founder of Innovics Wireless.
