    SIPphone Launches Free SMS Service


    SIPphone, the San Diego-based maker of voice-over-IP software, said today that it has launched a new, web-based SMS service called Gizmo SMS. The new service allows anyone to send SMS text messages to mobile phones from any web browser. SIPphone said that the new service will allow the sending of SMS messages to any mobile number in over 65 countries.
