    SIPphone Supports Asterisk PBX

San Diego-based SIPphone, the voice over IP firm started by MP3.com founder Michael Robertson, said today that it's latest release of its SIP open source project the Gizmo Project supports integration with the popular, open source Asterisk PBX software. SIPphone said that Gizmo Project users can now be universally reachable via their Asterisk PBX software. The Gizmo softphone can be used for office PBX calls. SIPphone said the integration means that users can use voice-over-IP without need for VoIP phones.
