SKY MobileMedia Buys e-SIM
San Diego-based SKY MobileMedia announced this morning that it is acquiring Jerusalem, Israel-based e-SIM Ltd, a provider of interfaces for mobile handsets. SKY did not disclosed the terms of the purchase. SKY will purchase substantially all of the assets of e-SIM. The firm said it will combine its mobile applications engine with the man-mobile interface solutions from e-SIM under its existing SKY-MAP products. The firm will also hire e-SIM's employees. The transaction is expected to close in 8 weeks. SKY MobileMedia is a venture-backed startup developing software applications for wireless phones. The firm has received funding from Enterprise Partners and Sid R. Bass Associates, and is currently being run by Naser Partovi, a Partner at Enterprise.
