Skype Adds Wi-Fi Phones
Internet calling service Skype is partnering with four hardware vendors to provide WiFi enabled phones for the company's popular service. The company said today that it will be adding hardware from Compton-based Belkin, Accton, NETGEAR, and SMC to the firm's online store this quarter. The phones will allow users to connect to Skype through any pubicly accessible Wi-Fi access point that does not require browser authentication. Skype said that all of the phones will automatically synchronize with Skype accounts and contacts, and support WEP, WPA, and WPA2 with PSK WiFI encryption protocols.
