Slacker Raises $40M
San Diego-based Slacker, the online and Wi-Fi enabled social music company, has raised $40M, according to a report published by Private Equity Week. Slacker operates an online service that allows you to create personalized Internet radio stations, and also is creating a Wi-Fi enabled mobile music player connected to the firm's services. The Series B funding came from Centennial Ventures, Rho Ventures, as well as prior investors Mission Ventures and Sevin Rosen Funds.
