SmartDrive Systems Provides Data To UK Research Lab
San Diego-based driving monitoring system developer SmartDrive Systems announced this morning that it has been selected by the UK Transport Research Laboratory, for a study. According to SmartDrive, it will provide billions of hours of driving information from vehicles equipped with its systems to the lab, to help the lab in its research. SmartDrive said the researchers are looking into naturalistic driving behavior, comparing drivers using hands free mobile devices versus handheld mobile phones, users texting and talking, and more. The study is aimed at understanding the root causes of unsafe driving and collisions.
