SMC Bundles Switches for IP SAN Solution

Irvine-based SMC Networks said this morning that it is in a deal with Nimbus Data Systems to bundle its switches in a storage area networking solution. The company's gigabit and 10-gigabit switches will be part of the new Nimbus turnkey storage area network solution. SMC will include switches ranging from eight ports to 48 ports of connectivity in the bundle. Nimbus is developing IP-based storage area networking solutions targeted at the SMB market.
