    SMC Networks Gets Wi-Fi Certification

Irvine-based SMC Networks has scored certification for its products on the new 802.11n draft 2.0 Wi-Fi certification, the firm said Thursday. The certification for its SMC Barricade Gigabit Broadband Router and EZ Connect Wireless USB2.0 Adapters means that the firm's products adhere to the Wi-Fi Alliance testing and certification program. The certification is designed to ensure interoperability between new Wi-Fi products using the 802.11n draft 2.0 standard, which is in the midst of approval. SMC's routers and adapters are used to connect computers using Wi-Fi wireless networking. The Wi-Fi Alliance is an industry group.
