    SMC Revs DSL Router Line

Irvine-based SMC Networks said this week that it has a new line of routers for the ADSL2/2+ market. The company shipped two new 4-port routers and a Voice over IP gateway targeted at Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and the telecom market. ADSL2/2+ is a new, backwards compatible specification that increases downstream rates and distance range for DSL service. All of the company's new equipment is available for ISPs now. SMC develops networking products targeted at the SMB and home market.
