SMSC, TransDimension Certify USB Controller Combo

Irvine-based Transdimention and SMSC announced that the companies have completed USB-IF On-The-Go compliance testing for the companies combined USB solution. TransDimension's Hi-Speed USB controller the UTMI+ Low Pin Interface (ULPI) and SMSC USB3300 ULPI physical layer transceivers have passed OTG compliance testing by the USB Implementers Forum. ULPI is an emerging standard which reduces the pin count necessary for USB transciver implementations, enabling better integration into smaller ASIC designs. Transdimension's USB3300 is targetd at the portable handheld electronics market.
