Snapchat Pays Maryland $100,000 To Settle Charges

Venice-based Snapchat said late last week that it has settled with the state of Maryland, over issues with how the company advertised its services. According to the state attorney general, Snapchat had misled consumers that its snaps were only temporary and would disappear after being viewed by recipients. The settlement is similar to one that Snapchat recently agreed to with the Federal Trade Commission. Snapchat admitted no violation of any federal, state, or local law.
