Snapchat's Age Verification Under Fire In The UK

Venice, California-based Snapchat, the social networking service that is part of Snap, Inc., is under fire in the UK, after the company admitted that its age-verification system "doesn't work" to UK lawmakers. The company--which basically lets anyone join the service by putting in a birthday that would indicate you are older than 13--said it is working on a "new age-verification system" with the UK's Home Office. Snapchat is under the microscope from UK lawmakers related to a criminal case where the family of a murder victim was taunted via Snapchat by a killer from prison.
