SolarFlare Announces 10Gbps Over Copper Transceivers

Irvine-based SolarFlare (www.solarflare.com) announced the availability of the company's 10 gigabit-per-second over copper physical layer transceivers. The new products, based on CMOS technology, allow for very high speed 10Gbps operation over standard Ethernet Category 5e wiring. The product eliminates the need for expensive optical fiber transceivers or cumbersome twinax coaxial cables currently needed for 10G Ethernet installations.
