Solarflare Quietly Adds $14.8M In Funding

Irvine-based Solarflare Communications, a developer of 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper semiconductors, has quietly added another $14.8M to the company's coffers. The funding was disclosed in both a September 5th regulatory filing, as well as in numbers release in the PwC/NVCA MoneyTree report. No investors were disclosed, and the round has not been announced, however the firm has previously received backing from Oak Investment Partners, Foundation Capital, Accel Partners, Amadeus Capital Partners, Anthem Venture Partners, Acacia Capital Partners, Intel Capital, and Miramar Venture Partners. The firm's last announced funding round came in April of 2006 in conjunction with a merger with Level 5; the additional $14.8M would place the company's total raised to over $100M.
