    Solarflare Raises $48M


    Irvine-based Solarflare said this morning that it has raised $48M in venture funding from Oak Investment Partners and previous investors Foundation Capital, Anthem Venture Partners, Intel Capital, and Miramar Ventures. Solarflare is developing high performance Gigabit Ethernet over Copper physical layer ICs, which are expected to allow for low cost gigabit-speed networking. Bandel Carano of Oak Investment Partners will join the company's board. This round of funding brings the company's total venture funding to $78M.
