Sonos Adds Android Direct Music Streaming
Santa Barbara-based Sonos, the maker of the user friendly, whole home, wireless music systems, has added support for streaming music directly from Android phones and tablets. Sonos said that the latest update to its Sonos Wireless HiFi System now lets users play music stored on a Android phone or tablet. Sonos previously allowed users to control Sonos with its Android app, but the app had not supported streaming music stored on the actual Android device itself. Sonos did say that tracks downloaded directly from the Google Play store still need to be downloaded from Google Play to your computer, and transferred back to your phone's Music folder, in order to be played directly.
