Sonos Quietly Raises Venture Round

Santa Barbara-based Sonos, a developer of wireless sound systems, quietly raised a round of venture funding last year, socalTECH has learned. Sonos has been getting rave reviews from the electronics press and others for its digital music system, which allows consumers to set up a whole-house digital music system. The company's ZonePlayers connect in a mesh wireless network that allow you play the same or different music in each room of a house, through a very easy-to-use handheld controller. The round actually closed last year, but according to a Sonos spokesman was not announced for competitive reasons. The round included participation by BV Capital, and was worth around $10M.
