Sonos Scores $135M For Music Systems, Says Report

Santa Barbara-based Sonos, the maker of user-friendly, whole house music systems, has raised $135M in a funding round, according to reports today. According to AllThingsD, citing "sources close to the situation", the funding included both primary and secondary financing, and was led by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, along with Redpoint Ventures and Elevation Partners. No details of the funding have yet been announced by Sonos, which is notorious about keeping mum about its venture funding and financial backing. Sonos has quietly become one of the most popular, high end, Internet-age audio systems out there, complete with connection to nearly every streaming Internet radio or music service in existence, a cult-like following for its equipment, and ability to control it systems with smart phones like the Apple iPhone and Android phones, in addition both Android and iPad tablets.
