Sony PlayStation Network Knocked Offline Overnight

It looks like Sony just can't get a break from hackers nowadays, as news came this morning that Sony's Playstation Network (PSN) was knocked offline for hours on Sunday night, as a result of a massive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack on the gaming service. Sony has been dealing with ongoing hacker activity against its service for months. Apparently, the group behind the DDoS attack on Sony was also behind a similar DDoS attack on Xbox Live on Friday. That group is apparently different from the group believed to be behind a different attack on Sony's corporate network, which has apparently resulted in the release of 47,000 Social Security numbers of former and current employees and countless confidential corporate documents.
