SpaceX Launch Delayed Until Wednesday
The demonstration launch of Hawthorne-based SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket has been delayed until no earlier than Wednesday, NASA said, due to a crack in the engine nozzle of the rocket's second stage. NASA said that SpaceX is looking at either repairing the crack, or shipping a replacement part from California. The crack was discovered Monday. SpaceX is the commercial rocket firm of Elon Musk, and the demonstration flight is geared towards showing the performance of the firm's Dragon space capsule. The capsule is designed to deliver cargo to the International Space Station, and is expected to return to earth after the demonstration flight. The rocket was expected to launch today.
