Hawthorne-based SpaceX is hoping to launch its historic mission to the International Space Station Saturday morning from Cape Canaveral. The launch--which will be the first commercial spacecraft to dock with the ISS--is set for 4:55a.m. EST Saturday, and will mark a huge milestone for SpaceX in its goal to deliver cargo, and eventually, astronauts, to space. SpaceX is headed by tech mogul Elon Musk, and although the firm has successfully demonstrated flights to space in the past, this will be the first time it delivers cargo to the ISS. The launch has been delayed multiple times as the firm has worked out kinks in its systems.
