    STI Wins $4.7M Contract
    Santa Barbara-based Superconductor Technologies, a provider of components for the wireless communications market, said today that it has been awarded a $4.7M U.S. Air Force contract. The contract will go towards developing tunable RF components for wireless products. According to STI, the U.S. Air Force also has an option to extend the contract for 12 months, for an additional $5.4M. Superconductor Technologies said that the contract covers a project entitled Semiconductor-Tuned High Temperature Superconducting Filters for Ultra- Sensitive Radio Frequency Receivers (SURF), used in military applications.
