Stickam.com Launches iPhone Streaming API

Los Angeles-based Stickam.com, an operator of a live streaming video site and associated services, has launched into the iPhone market today, saying it has provided a new API for third-party integration of live streaming into iPhone apps. Stickam said its iPhone SDK allows third parties to integrate live streaming into any iPhone app, using Apple Quicktime's H.265 HTTP live streaming functions. The firm said the first customer to use the functions is 211me, which is using the streaming as part of a celebrity app for Twilight's Peter Facinelli. Stickam said it would charge 45 cents per gigabyte for the the live streaming service to developers.
