San Diego-based StockTwits said today that it has launched a new, app for HootSuite, the provider of software used for social media management. According to StockTwits, the new app and integration makes it easy for HootSuite users to post messages directly to StockTwits.com. StockTwits operates a micro-messaging service--similar to Twitter--focused on stocks and finance discussions. HootSuite allows businesses and others to run marketing campaigns across multiple social networks, and is commonly also used by people to time announcements on Twitter, for example. HootSuite also connects into social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+. StockTwits is lead by Howard Lindzon.
