Sunstone Awards $35K To USC Students In Venture Competition

Irvine-based private equity investor Sunstone Management says it has awarded $35,000 to the winning team in a competition at the University of Southern California, as part of a venture funding competition. According to the firm, it awarded the $35,000 Sunstone Prize on April 27th to a team at the USC Marshall Greif Center's New Venture Seed Competition. Sunstone says it is in a five year agreement with the USC Marshall School of Business, with a commitment of $175,000. The firm said that $150,000 was split between six finalists in the 2023 New Venture Seed Competition, with the winning team being Conduit Commerce, which proposed a "centralized distributor for drop shipping to guarantee one- to two-day delivery, connecting retailers directly with e-commerce consumers."
