Tanner Research Gets $1.2M Army Contract


Monrovia-based Tanner Research has received a $1.2M contract from the Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), the firm said Friday afternoon, in additional funding as part of a research program. Tanner said the funding is part of the firm's development of technology to intercept rocket, artillery, and mortar threats for ARDEC. Tanner Research scored its initial contract for the technology in 2006. Tanner provides technology research in the area of image processing, chemical detection, and other areas for such customers as the Department of Defense, NASA, NPL, the Department of Defense, IBM, Microsoft, and Intel.
