    Tekelec Acquires Telecomm Products Provider


    Calabasas-based Tekelec (www.tekelec.com) announced that it is acquiring Steleus Group, a provider of real-time network intelligence to telecom operators, for $56M. Tekelec said that it will pay approximately $29M in cash and $27M in stock for the privately held company. Steleous provides General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Solutions, which Tekelec said it will use to enhance and differentiate its next generation switching and signaling product offerings.
