    Tekelec Relocates Headquarters, Abandons Southland


    Calabasas-based Tekelec announced today that it is moving its headquarters from Calabasas to Morrisville, NC. In conjunction with the move, the company said that it was naming a number of Morrisville-based executives to its executive staff, and eliminating its Calabasas operations. Tekelec said that it recently had employed 145 in its Calabasas plant, and had reduced the number to 40 in the last year as it shifted to contract manufacturers. Tekelec was founded in 1978 and went IPO in 1986,
